What should I do about my teenage son....advice needed please!!!!?

Hello, my son is 18 years old. Ever since he was able to talk he's dreamed of becoming a famous rapper. His idol is Eminem and he's been working on writing rap songs for about 8 years now.





He recently informed me and my wife that he was going to move to LA to finally fulfill his dream of becoming an internationally known rapper. But, he said before he does that, he is going to make it official by legally changing his name. You see, he beleives that his current name, the name my wife and I gave him, isn't ';gansta'; enough and that he needs a more tough-sounding name if he's ever going to be taken seriously in the rap community.





His name now is Erwin Q. McToolmeister. But he said that on Monday, he's going down to city hall and he's going to legally change it to Hercules J. Murder. I said that that name is completely ridiculous and suggested he try another name like maybe L.L. Tool-Jay, or something like that, but he has his heart set on Hercules J. Murder. My wife and I are just devastated. What should we do about this?What should I do about my teenage son....advice needed please!!!!?
watch the movie malibus most wanted and have him watch it. it is very hard to get in the music business and if he does get a foot in the door they can help him come up with a better name. so ask him to hold off on legally changing it for now.What should I do about my teenage son....advice needed please!!!!?
I honestly can understand him not wanting to be a rapper named ';erwin';. Just tell him to use a ';rapper name'; while he's rapping or whatever but don't legally change his name. Have people just call him hercules like a nickname...
oh Lord. You have got to be kidding me, you named your kid Erwin? Nice fantasy land dream world he lives in, as if he will be a famous ';gangsta wanna be rapper';.


Tell him to change his name.
