Umm, why exactly are you on birth control at the age of 16? I take it you were 15 when you started dating, and have probably been monogamous with him for the last 12 months (or just dating him).
If he is not pushing you to have sex, then don't.

You and your boyfriend are the only ones to decide about that. I personally think that you are very young, and that you can wait until you both are really attach to each other and make a kind of personal and spiritual commitment to be together. And as you've seen in the movies the First time is the First time unforgetable but the next times are to know better each other and fulfill your need of love and desire. It's up to you. Whatever you decide be sure you will be fine with that the rest of your life.
You should wait. In this day and age you can't take any chances. Your still young, and what you think may be love, really may not be. Right now the world is open to you because for one you are young, don't have any kids, hopefully a good education so you never have to depend on anybody. You have to be very selective with whom you want to keep close company with. When you get older you can't be as selective anymore because for one you're not so young and pretty anymore, you may have kids by then. So it's harder (not impossible) to find a good honest man. And by that time you really can't be so picky if he is not such a ';pretty boy'; which I might add is really not that inportant. As long as they treat you well and never disrepect you, that's all that really matters. What matters is what in the inside, not so much the outside. Oh yeah and of course he must like to work. So please hold off on having sex!! The only good thing about getting older is that for women you really don't enjoy sex as much as you do when you're older because most 16 and 17 year olds don't really even know what a real orgasm is, and trust me you will know when you have one. You can't fake that unless you know how to buck like a horse and well I'll will leave it at that. Good luck to you.
Well if your asking other then your probably not ready and birth controls not 100% for sure to keep you from getting pregnant and trust me i know what i'm talking about and you should wait i was with my bf for 4 years and thought i was ready and then i kinda regreted it because i had to give my baby up and lost oone.
