Re-doing teenage girls room....advice is much needed...?

Here is the story. My younger sister is 16 and she is away at church camp right now. She just left yesterday and is coming back this coming weekend. :) I am excited to see her but, before she left she asked if maybe I could convince (our) mom to re-do her room and decorate it while she was gone so she had something to come back to :) my mom said ';If she wants it done..and so do you, than you should just do it'; so that gave me the idea. I am going to re-do her room and I have a few days before she comes back. She has light blue walls and a nice comforter so I am not going to change those things. She has a striped rug (i might not change that) and she likes that a lot. I am just wondering from other teenage girls around that age;

-what is an essential for a 16 year old girl's room? (what does she need in there)?

-What could I do for her in there that she would love?

-what are some things you have in your room that other people don't have?

thanks so much :)

p.s: sorry I don't have pictures! She has a bathroom attatched to her bedroom! She has a mirror in her bedroom but, she also has one in the bathroom so we don't need any mirrors :) Pictures of your room or of a model room would be awesome :) thanks

Ok Im going to give you the best advice I can (:

I'd say a 16 year old girl needs her room to feel cozy, like a place where she can go to get away from everything. For example: If she likes make-up or modeling, or girly stuff like that, than put those type of things in there. Like make-up kits, etc.

do whatever she is interested in, or decorate it according to her personality.

-What could I do for her in there that she would love?

Refer to question one.

AND ALSO, Since you have blue, maybe add another color, or a different shade of blue.

The same color can be blah. but dont forget this is your sisters room, so it should be a color she likes.

Well I have a computer. I also have bins to hold stuff in. You could also do like in this video:

That is my cousins singing, but if you look in the background, there are little shelves. (: Those are really cool and she can put stuff on them to her liking.

Browse around this site and see if there is anything good:

Try not to over do it, and try not to make it something she will be bored of the next day.

Here is something she can hang notes, pictures, etc on:

On this site, there is a lot of nice room stuff to get. It can be costly, but a bedroom is somewhere where a lot of people spend the majority of their time.

Target also has some good cheap ones (:

Sorry it is so long! (:

i hope that helps.Re-doing teenage girls room....advice is much needed...?

Well....I redid my room when I was 16. My main thing was updating my furniture and getting a color scheme since my room was totally all white and boring and my furniture was falling apart.

You say your sister already has blue in her room. Maybe you can pick another color to add.

I decorated my room in my color scheme and style. I got a neat rug, some cool pillows, some curtains, a vase with flowers, I painted some pictures with my colors and hung em up, I got some awesome lamps that went with my new furniture.

The one thing I have in my room that others don't is a mural of some trees that I painted on one wall.
whats her favorite color?
