Teenage Boy Hair Advice. Urgent.?

Teenage boy hair advice/help.?

Im 18 years old now and I'm really tired of my short boring haircut. This is a picture of me.

I'm a keen fan of Big Brother, and have taken a particular interest in Rodrigo's hair (he's from Brazil :D). Here is one of several photos of him i found on facebook:

Okay, so I may not be as tanned as him, but the hair colour and thickness is sort of the same i would say.

Anyway, I need advice as to how I can achieve this look in as short a time as possible. My hair never seems to grow downwards, but instead upwards and this has always put me off trying to grow any kind of fringe.

So I'd appreciate any advice possible. Thanks :)Teenage Boy Hair Advice. Urgent.?
From the ';urgent I thought you had just had a bucket of paint fall on your hair or something! Well you can relax because from what I can make out from the severely distorted photo, that has the vertical height of your face at about 150% of the width of your body at the shoulders, your hair appears to be no more than an inch or so at the front hairline. It could be more but I can't tell from the photo. The average rate of hair growth is 1/2'; per month, so it will be around Christmas before you have his approximately four inches of hair at the front. There is nothing boring about a short as opposed to long style and with your features all you really need is enough hair to work with your face shape to frame your facial features. The focus should be on your best feature, your eyes, and your face not your hair. You also have just about perfect ears so I am not sure why you would want to cover them with hair. If you want to grow your hair to his length and not have it look like a mess as it is growing, I suggest continuing to taper up the back and sides every three weeks or so till the top grows to about three inches. Then start to let the back and sides grow and get haircuts about every six weeks to shape things up. It may take a little longer I think it is better to look well groomed for a slightly longer period of time than to look scruffy for a slightly shorter period of time. The top hair can be kept under control with a wax until it reaches about two or more inches in length. If you urgently want change and you have thick hair that stands on end readily, if you stop considering that short hair on young guys is boring which it definitely is not, and which notion among some teenagers seems to be the end result of a multimedia advertising and marketing blitz spearheaded by Disney corp to promote certain shows/movies and actors, there are short styles you could try that could change your appearance. For instance an ivy league allows several looks as the hair can be brushed up off the forehead to form a short pompadour front; parted and combed to the side; bangs brushed down on to the forehead and worn as a forward brush. A tiny dab of control wax is usually applied to style the hair. I don't find any of the following short styles to be ';boring'; and the nice thing with short styles is that if one does become bored with a short haircut, it is easy to switch to a different short style one haircut and be able to go back to the former style the next haircut

This answer explains the basic short styles. The first two links contained therein are quite informative:

If you want to grow to a longer style, be patient and you will get there. There are no miracles that make hair grow faster as long as a guy is eating a relatively healthy diet, the rate is controlled by inherited DNA. If you go with frequent haircuts as suggested above while growing out, it may take slightly longer but you will look good the whole time and will reach your goal of longer hair, without deciding to just cut a grown out mess off. If you want urgent change your only choice is to go with a different short style.

if thats the hair you want i would say go for it, the only thing i would say is that the inbetween stages will not be great as it will begin to look silly from the changes of short hair to long hair, you will hate it and just want to go and get it all cut off. i would say be persistant and resist as eventually your hair will start to look natural.
Here are some products I recommend trying while you grow out your hair and even to achieve the style.

Well, I don't think you can speed up hair growth, but you can aid it with vitamins/ health supplements. Once it's grown, style it. If it won't stay down, maybe you could find a hair serum, or get styled at a hair cuttery/salon. Hope I helped!

Just let it grow out... My friend Joker had his hair realy short for a while and then i told him to grow it out... it took about 6 months to grow it out to his shoulders and it looked really sexy... so my advice is just let it grow.
